Rosi Golan
The Drifter & The Gypsy
Featured Download: “Think of Me” MP3

Rosi Golan—featured in our article on music licensing on p. 18—has packed so much yummy, folk-pop goodness into debut The Drifter & The Gypsy that we are absolutely beside ourselves with glee. The Israeli-born, New York-based artist has crafted unbelievably catchy choruses (“Slide,” “I Don’t Wanna Wait”) while still leaving enough space for songs to breathe, bounce and beg for repeat listens. A trained violinist and actress, Golan is a self-taught guitarist who found her creative muse in a six-string.

Opener “Think of Me” stands out with supple, mood-setting electric guitar lines underscoring Golan’s half-whispered promise to remain true to a lover. “C’est L’amour” is a jaunty French ditty complete with
accordion, while the title track, dedicated to Golan’s father, chugs along like a fun, happy train that’s crying “All aboard!”

Need a renewed belief in the possibility of DIY? Look no further than this drifting gypsy. —MW
